Why did I stop writing about Political issues?

The reason is because that now I'm living in a country with military dictatorship. I no longer want to attract any interest in me or my beloved family. However, if one event is strong enough, I will write again.

Since I just posted a new entry on my Software blog. I want to mention about my new-found mosquito killer bat. Some of you may never heard of this device before. It's an electrified bat with 3 layers of wires. It only cost 130 Thai Baht or 4 USD equipped with rechargable battery.

It seems pretty good at fighting off mosquitoes. The only downside is that I need to consider the karma side of killing mosquitoes as well. In buddhism, killing is one of the 5 precepts that most buddhists adhere to. Killing falls in precept#1. People do not know that killing without intent does not equal to killing with intent. To break any precepts, the following items need to be followed:
1. One must intend to conduct the deed
2. The deed has been conducted
3. The result of the deed is completed

with all the above, a precept will be broken.

For example, precept 1 - do not kill - with my mosquito bat action:
1. I intend to kill a mosquito (intention)
2. Mosquito bat is swung in that mosquito direction (killing conduct)
3. That mosquito is dead (result is completed - dead)

So what do you do? Mosquito causes pain. A mosquito bit could last up to 5 days. I usually don't think that I want a revenge. I also don't think that I want to kill that mosquito. I just want to use mosquito bat to fend off mosquitoes. So intention isn't there. A killing precept is not broken. But I still am subject to a small bad karma to take someone else's life.

It's all about intention, folks.
